Trust and Estates Tax Attorney

Seeking a Trusts and Estates Tax Attorney for Charleston, South Carolina with at least 10-15 years of experience in the areas of complex estate planning and related estate/gift tax, corporate, and personal wealth and tax planning for high net worth individuals, business owners and families. Must be admitted or willing to be admitted to the South Carolina Bar and have an LL.M. degree. Should be a certified specialist in tax or estate planning.

The candidate will create estate plans for clients, consult with and advise fiduciaries in probate and trust administration, work on contested estate/trust matters, review estate and gift tax returns (including complex reporting and valuation issues), and assist clients in the establishment of private foundations and other charitable vehicles.

Must have experience working with high net-worth individuals in the design and drafting of their estate plans, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, premarital agreements, and other estate planning documents. Should be experienced with family limited partnerships and limited liability companies, shareholder agreements, installment sales, complex business transactions and other related transactions. Must have prepared and be comfortable with IDGTS, SLATS, CRTS, CLTS, GRATS, QPRTS, FLPS and SCINS.
